Macbook Pro Ram
Can I put an odd number of ram in my Macbook Pro?
I have a Macbook Pro 13′ 2.26 Ghz with 2GB of RAM (2x1GB). I have purchased a single 4GB stick and was wondering if I could put the 4GB stick plus one of the 1GB sticks to make if 5GB. Can that be done? And if so is it safe to do this?
You won’t hurt anything if it doesn’t work.
If they are of the same quality and speed then it should work.
About 6 years ago I added a 1GB stick of ram to a laptop that had 512mb stock and that worked.
If you are using two sticks of ram that are made to process at different speeds than you will likely run both sticks at the slower processing speed.
