Macbook Air 11
Is it possible to increase my internal hard disk space and RAM at home on a new MacBook Air 11.6″?
I would rather not pay over $200 extra on something I could easily do at home. If that is the case.
No, unfortunately not.
Hard drive: The Macbook Air does not use the standard 1.8″/2.5″ hard drives, it uses some custom mSATA SSD manufactured by Toshiba and it’s Apple proprietary. You can probably change it if you can find a part similar to that but I never seen an SSD designed like that before.

RAM: The RAM is soldered onto the board. UNLESS you have some wave soldering machine/ infrared soldering station/ BGA desoldering equipment and you’re willing to take the risk of permanently damaging your hardware, it’s not possible to upgrade the RAM.
