Would you recommend buying directly through Apple?
When buying equipment from Amazon, you need to look carefully at the details of the equipment listed. You can buy both used and new equipment there, from both retail outlets and from private individuals. So in any particular instance, it might or might not have that software.
Because Apple equipment is basically only available from Apple as either a wholesale product to resellers or as a retail product to consumers, there is effectively a price fix on all Apple products. Until a product line is replaced and overstock exists, there is no chance of getting a significant discount on any Apple products. So there is no real reason to buy from Apple as opposed to another mail order or retail outlet. In fact, if you want more RAM for your Apple purchase, I would recommend that you NOT get that RAM upgrade from the Apple store, as you will pay much much more for that RAM than you would anywhere else.
