iMac OS X Tiger blank screen?
I have a new iMac and of course the support is closed plus can not find the answer on their website. I walked past the computer and looked at it and the screen had this strange yellow with a touch of light blue tweed pattern on it. I moved the mouse and got no responce. I clicked the sleep button on the back of the computer and no responce. The last resort was to shut it down through the power outlet. When I plugged it back in the light in the cornor is on (not breathing) and the screen is now blank and no responce with using a key board or mouse. My key board and mouse are wireless…. I have dial up service (which where I live I have no choice to have).
any ideas to some of those people who have been working on Macs for a long time?

Which mac do you have? An iMac? In general (and maybe you did this but forgot to mention it), before you resort to literally pulling the plug on your Mac, you can simply hold the power button down for about 5-10 seconds. At that point it should shut down. If you hold it for like 20 seconds and nothing happens, then go ahead and pull the plug.
Now for that “twead” patter you mention, because you said that, it made me think of some kind of screen saver, but maybe you didn’t mean that. Do you mean the screen looked like it had a garbage image on it, or that it was some deliberate graphic pattern (like a screen saver or desktop pattern) that you just hadn’t seen before?
If it wasn’t some type of image (in other words a garbage image) then it could be possible you have a bad logic board or video card.
